Lee Hendricks was born in Tucson, Arizona and grew up in Topeka, Kansas, graduating from Topeka High School in 1995. Lee graduated with honors from Washington University in St. Louis with Bachelor of Arts degrees in both political economics and political science. While at Washington University he was the photography editor of the school newspaper and a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity, where he was selected to be the sole undergraduate member of the national board of directors.
Lee attended graduate school at the University of Kansas, where he obtained his Juris Doctorate and Masters of Business Administration in 2003. In law school Lee was a staff member of the Kansas Journal of Law and Public Policy, and also served as Symposium Editor. His article discussing anti-trust laws and major league baseball was published in the Minneapolis-St. Paul Star Tribune in 2002. While in school Lee worked as a judicial clerk at the Douglas County Courthouse and as a law clerk with the Stumbo firm, where he then went to work as an associate in 2004.
Lee is a member of the Kansas and Topeka Bar Associations, the Topeka Area Bankruptcy Council and the Sam A. Crow Inn of Court. Lee practices in the areas of consumer and small business bankruptcy, landlord/tenant and general business practice. He also practices in the Municipal arena, where he serves as the City Attorney for the cities of Perry, Lecompton and Willard and has served as prosecutor for the city of Perry since 2004.
Lee, his wife Cara and his sons, Will & Wyatt, live in Lawrence.
